The very best time for newborn photos is within the first 8 days of life. This may sound stressful as new parents but this is when the baby is still curled up in the fetal position and you get the best results for true newborn photos.
My current studio is located in my home in Lake Saint Croix Beach MN. I find my vaulted ceilings and abundance of windows offers the perfect amount of natural light for photographing newborns and I can turn on the fireplace and heated floors to the perfect temp and of course the coffee is always fresh! Additionally, I can keep all exposure to a minimum here as well as I do not have an abundance of people coming in and out of my property.
There are no set time limits. I only photograph one session per day to allow the time we need. All sessions start at 10am and end when we we get the photos we want. Sessions typically last between 2 and 4 hours depending on babies and session type.
